What happened to the January thaw?

Boy, it's been cold and it looks like this weekend we are really in for a bitter cold snap. Snow every day and really cold with wind, now that is an old fashion winter in January just like it used to be. It seems like every year when it's time for the Farm Show we get a major snow storm or ice storm or so cold it hurts to breath. At least we are not in the B.O.R. anymore. Lots of times the heat didn't work correctly or not at all and standing on that ice arena you couldn't feel your feet within an hour.
